The Best ways to improve the Road Safety in Oman.
As we all relies that the road accidents fatalities been reduced for last two years because of some positive actions been taken by Royal Oman Police. We still need to do more to have safe roads.
Out of ROP statistics we find the most violations are the " Overspending".
Overspending is the most dangerous actions taken by the drivers. They assume they can control their vehicles which is wrong. Actually the proof is the number of Radar tickets and the number of accidents.
Drivers throw the blame to the roads, traffic and the time. We are sure they are the reason of the accidents because of poor time management and lack of safe actions.
To improve such observations we need the following:
- Improve the drivers knowledge and awareness.
- Establish a modern driving school to teach driving.
- Enhance the safe actions at the roads.
- Activate the social media to serve the traffic safety.
- Link the violations to a training programs. If any driver make a major mistake, he must attend a safety course.
- Change the driving licence renewal period from 10 years to every 5 years.
- Encourage people to lead as an example while driving.
- Award the best road safety practices.
- Publish the instructions in at least 3 languages or more to expand the massage.
- Keep updating the drivers with the new traffic rules and regulations.
